How to Start Your Fitness Journey

Good afternoon my Herbalifers.

I just wanted to share this WebMD article about How to Get Fit at Home. It's pretty simple really.

I even have several posts about my fitness journey. You can take a look at them below:

A Little About Me (MissKimberlyJoy)

Born as Kimberly E. Cumberbatch in Montreal, Quebec.
Adopted as Kimberly Joy.

Was an average teenager that turned into an interesting woman.
Changed careers from Computers to Education.
Who married an exciting person and is now living in Los Angeles, California.

My life is a perfect example of how "Curiosity Killed the Cat."
Well, this cat's name is Kimberly Joy and I'm still learning and relearning about the world around me
(yep, still true).

First thing I do when I wake up is take care of myself, workout, do my online jobs, relax and enjoy life.
It's pretty simple but it isn't easy but that's life.

Lastly, I love as a wife, a sister, a friend and a preschool teacher.
Now, I'm working on becoming another kinda PT, a personal trainer.

Thank-you and take care.

Serious Stuff: Safe Surrender

When I first moved to Los Angeles in 2013, I learned about this law (maybe a by-law?) called "Safe Surrender." When the news anchor explained what it was and why it was needed, at first, I was shocked but I then calmed down and realized this is probably the best way to keep Mom and baby safe.

If you don't know about Safe Surrender, please educate yourself here.

Model My Diet Calculator

I just found this interesting calculator. It's called Model My Diet.
Try it out and see if you like it or not.

My Herbalife Journey
Kimberly Joy
March 24, 2016

Hello, my name is Kimberly, also known as Miss Kimberly Joy, and I moved to Los Angeles, California from Montreal, Quebec with my husband.

My husband was lucky, he was asked to work so his social network was already in the works. As for me, I wasn’t allowed to work and I was a little afraid to go outside by myself. You can’t have a social or a business network if you don’t get out of your comfort zone. But of course, I got bored so I decided to sit in the park and read. I actually did a silent prayer hoping that someone would at least come up and say hi to me. So never be afraid to talk to people. They may be asking for someone like you to come into their lives. And that’s exactly what happened. This person asked me if I was interested in fitness and having a shake and I said yes. I signed up for a membership but I never really got started in building a brand for myself even though this is what I wanted. Eventually, I forgot about that business opportunity and I was allowed to work. I let my membership expire and then found myself wondering, why am I still getting paid $14 an hour as a preschool teacher when I’m more than qualified? The kids love me, the parents love me, the teachers respect me and I’m not saying I should be paid more than the senior teachers but let’s be honest, I wasn’t getting paid what I was worth. I figured maybe I should just shut-up and suck it up and just do what was expected. I’m a loud and colorful creature and I will never let anyone tell me to be anything but.

After two years of working for child care centers that zapped my creativity, I decided, this was enough. I had student tuition to pay and it ain’t cheap when you’re considered an international student. I was tired of my boss telling me no for time off so I could travel with my husband. I had to look hard at myself in the mirror and ask, is this what you really want? To work to pay bills and die? Don’t you want to be part of something bigger? I was always great in gym class in high school and loved how the class was set up. There were no desks, you didn’t have to chain yourself to a desk. There was a ton of space were you can run around and play and found out it was good for your overall health. I want to be happy, I want to laugh, I want to be an inspiration.

Even if you’re not a great speaker, we can help you with that. Even if you’re feeling unsure and blue, with our plans and motivation we can pull through it together. Don’t do what I did, don’t waste your time thinking, “I should be doing it this way.” No, you shouldn’t be in debt, no, you shouldn’t have high cholesterol. No, you shouldn’t be so stressed out at work that you end up getting an ulcer or getting addicted to crappy food that temporarily fills you up and masks it’s poison with happiness.

No, you deserve better. I moved here for a better life! And you can do this in any of the 90 countries as well! Are you ready? Then let’s get started! You’ll never see a job interview that’s as amazing as this one.

Update 1:
My husband gets to travel. Why can’t I have that to? Do I need to get a Ph.D in Health Economics to do it? No, I can do it right here with Herbalife. I have conversational skills, I have computer and social media skills, I have the will for a healthier lifestyle and that’s all you really need.

I hope this post helped you feel inspired.
Take care and toodles Xox
